christmas unravell

A Christmas message – getting unravelled with automation and delegation.

Are you getting a little unravelled this year with Christmas? Times a bit strange! No matter what the times, the great thing about delegating to outsource teams or delegation to automation is this keeps everything going in the financial background of your business, for you no matter what. It’s a little like Christmas elves with a little like magic; things happen, good things. That is if you have the right teams and the right automation (software); otherwise, it can all go pear-shaped. I don’t know about you, but I don’t want a rotten pear festering through Christmas well into next year. Another mistake made by many is abdication over the holiday time. Abdication is no way to run a business; the correct delegation, yes, and someone watching your back, always! Our advice is to ensure you have the right human intervention when those outside the box occurrences appear. They are always there; we can’t leave it all to AI (artificial intelligence), not yet anyway!

Here are some key tips to keep everything going shipshape until you return from holidays

  • appoint a dedicated account manager
  • staff to cross-check each other’s work —  keeps everyone on their toes working and accountable, no slackening off while the boss is away
  • establish contact details to be able to talk to a real human
  • set milestones or skeleton operations to last over the break
  • plan with your manager to make sure expectations are met for payroll, STP lodgement, bill payment, superannuation
  • advise staff re wages and perhaps advance pay on casual wages with top-up-balance when return
  • make sure everyone is clear on public holidays and annual leave requests have been submitted
  • set automatic reminders for payment of your invoices — you still want the money coming in!
  • set holiday message reply and return to work in your ‘out of office’ emails
